A Prayer for SaraRose Joy

Here is a short poem I wrote when SaraRose was born. I read it when Andrew and I dedicated her to the Lord. Little did I realize how quickly I'd have to put our words of dedication into action....about a month later all my health problems began.
Letting go of all I want to be as a mom and giving my time with her away to others is one of the hardest things to deal with.
The Lord is teaching me that even when I can't be there for her like I want to, He is watching over her and working all things for our good. Even when I don't understand.
Being God is way above my pay level anyway!

Joy of our hearts--
How we love watching you grow.
As your precious life blooms
May your heart be filled
With the hope of Christ,
And may you come
To know Him fully.
May you always look up
In sunshine and in rain
Knowing you are
A special creation
Never to be duplicated.

May your heart remain tender,
But also strong.
Choosing love
And giving kindness
To those on your path.

May your roots grow deep
And your bloom be bright
With happiness and hope;
Freedom and joy--
All the days of your life.

  1. Hi Kristen, I came upon your blog and wanted to leave a comment. I'm not sure exactly what your health issues are, but I am sorry for your suffering. May God increase your strength as you go through this time of pain. May your faith grow like a mustard seed - fast and strong and big. I pray for your husband, too, that he stay healthy and able. And, of course, for SaraRose, that your poem for her becomes her legacy.

    Be ever so blessed.

  2. Dear Life Adapted, How encouraging to be encouraged by someone I don't even know! I appreciate your kind words! Thanks so much.

  3. This is beautiful. No words can describe your words, hope, and prayer for your daughters life. "Looking up in sunshine and rain..." I love that part. And "come to know Him fully." Who could want more for their child? I love that you shared this. I also love that God has blessed me as your friend. I am so glad you started this blog. Love you,
